"R128074 Flight Sergeant (RCAF navigator) William Bernard Wheeler (b.1921) of Saskatoon died 1943,07,25 and is buried at Dishforth cemetery, North Yorkshire, England.

Wheeler's Halifax crashed near Linton Perimeter Track, Linton Woods, on a training flight from No. 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit.

He was the son of William and Dorris May (Wiles) Wheeler of Pickering, Durham Co., Ontario. William Jr. was born at Belleville, Hastings Co., educated at Pickering and was an RCMP officer when he enlisted at Saskatoon in 1941."
