My wife Cathy and I had the honour to meet His Excellency The Right Honourable Mr. & Mrs. David Johnston on the occasion of the presentation of the Sovereign's Medal for Canadian Volunteers.
On this special occasion, a small group of RCMP members and RCMP Vets were introduced to His Excellency at the ceremony which took place at Rideau Hall on September 16, 2006. In addition to the prestigious affair, the recepients were provided with hospitality and a very relaxing tour of Rideau Hall. It was a day to well remember.
A few days after the ceremony, I sent a note of appreciation to His Excellency for their hospitality, warmth and kindness. His Excellency's hand written reply is below.
